Warren George started his company on Liberty Street in Manhattan in 1944. It is now the oldest drilling and grouting company on the East Coast of the United States. As the planning and redevelopment of lower Manhattan progressed, the company was relocated to Hoboken, New Jersey. With the growth of geotechnical drilling and water boring services, the need for permanent property adjacent to navigable waters became apparent, and the company was relocated in 1972 to its current location in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Throughout the last 25 years, Frank Gregory established a world-wide reputation for completing complex and challenging projects. Anthony Tirro, a valued employee of Warren George for over 30 years, took over the company following Frank’s death in 2006.
Since the company’s inception, it has grown from a one-rig, two-man business to an operation consisting of more than 30 drill rigs and crews. We pride ourselves on having an extensive fleet of company owned water-based investigation equipment, including barges and tugboats. Today we continue to grow, adding new and custom manufactured equipment to our inventory.
